What it's about


Partners Group currently has an opening for a driven, technically adept, articulate and highly professional Associate to join the Australian Private Equity direct investment team.

The Australian PE team has country coverage responsibility across all sectors and work closely with Partners Group investment teams in the US and Europe who are organized by industry vertical:
Services, Health & Life, Goods & Products and Technology.

The Associate will be part of a seamless local and international Partners Group team working to review and source, select, acquire, manage and ultimately exit PE investments in Australia encompassing all verticals.


The Associate's role is to support the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio company management.

The Associate will also monitor portfolio company performance through the investment period and help the team assess and effect a monetization of the investment that maximizes return.


What we expect

  • Excellent financial analysis skills, including high proficiency in financial modelling
  • Superb quality written work product: coherent, persuasive with high attention to detail
  • Application of critical thinking in prioritizing and analyzing investment opportunities
  • Ability to rapidly prepare and assimilate industry and competitive research
  • Draft investment committee reports while supervising external resources in the process
  • Interact with third party due diligence partners (tax professionals, attorneys, technical consultants, insurance, environmental, etc.)
  • Flex both upwards and downwards when required in order to coordinate the investment process and ensure every aspect of the work is completed successfully
  • Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of investment management, acting quickly to identify, address and correct issues
  • Lead construction of detailed, business unitbased financial models, including optimal capital structure, purchase price, adjustments and sensitivities to economic conditions
  • Assist and support the Investment Leader in negotiating debt facilities, purchase agreements, commercial and employment agreements for portfolio companies
  • Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new market/verticals and provide support in investment exit process
