Parental Leave Backfill**
Band - Salary Range $76,355 to $87,925 per annum + 11% Super + RDO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity
Working as part of an experienced and innovative event team, this role contributes to the development and the delivery of Council's dynamic community event program including large
- and small-scale outdoor events and corporate functions that align with community needs and objectives as outlined in Council's Health and Wellbeing plan.


Reporting directly to the Arts and Events Coordinator, the role works closely with community and Council employees ensuring all events are ran in accordance with Council's policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver events as directed, inclusive of event concept development, logístical and operational planning, postevent review and related activities.
  • Identify local community requirements with respect to event development, management, and sustainability.
  • Develop and monitor small to large community facing events, event budgets and timelines.
  • Provide support where required in the development of Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management strategies and practices to ensure the safety of participants and the public.
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with event stakeholders to support event delivery in the City of Melton.
  • Provide advice and support to internal Council stakeholders in the development and delivery of departmental events to ensure a consistent and professional standard across Council.

About you

_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_

  • Tertiary qualification in Event Management or related discipline with some experience or lesser formal qualification with relevant experience.
  • Proven and demonstrable expertise in event management including creative programming, marketing and promotions, event evaluations, logistics and operations.
  • Understanding of the principles of events in community development and how this applies within a local government context.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports, procedures and general documentation.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Current First Aid qualification.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
