The Role' ̄

SBS have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Media Operations team.

You will be joining a creative team of video editors to provide engaging content for our multi-platform broadcast environment for the weekday Mandarin News bulletin.


As a key part of the Technology, Operations and Services unit, you will join a team which provides technical and editing resources for Mandarin/Arabic News, World News, Current Affairs, Sport, NITV, Documentary and General Entertainment production.

While specialising in Mandarin News you may work other editing shifts as required.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Editing Operations, this role will see you working editing shifts' ̄and come equipped with:

  • Excellent communication skills and must have high proficiency in reading and writing Mandarin
  • A commitment to work on site at Artarmon television studios Sydney
  • Proven understanding of News editorial principals and cutting to broadcast critical deadlines
  • Proven ability to provide creative and technical expertise in relation to television editing and knowledge of television editing production facilities and operational procedures.
  • Experience in social media & television live streaming (Wirecast, Facebook and Youtube).
  • A personal desire to go above and beyond for your clients delivering exceptional service
  • Handson experience working with a range of editing platforms such as, Dalet One Cut and Adobe Editing Apps to an advanced level
  • The flexibility to work in News and Current Affairs in accordance to a rotating roster, which can include weekends and late nights if required
