About the Role

MAURI, part of the George Weston Foods Group and Associated British Foods, one of the world's largest food businesses, is a leading supplier of high-quality flours, yeasts, pre-mixes, improvers, grains and animal nutrition, employing over 600 people over 14 sites in Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for a Quality Technician to join our Port Adelaide flour mill team.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality products to our customers by performing quality assurance tasks and conducting product assessments according to Quality Control Test Procedures, focusing on providing timely and accurate results to our production team and customers.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing support within the operations team to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP /BRCGS certification, internal quality systems and consistent quality products are delivered to our customers
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation for the site Quality Assurance validation processes.
  • Organise internal, external and verification testing requirements for the Site.
  • Producing timely and accurate test results and certificates that are communicated to internal and external customers.
  • Assist with generating and reviewing SOPs.
  • Ensuring product test results comply with internal and customer specifications and they tested as per testing schedule and checked against agreed specifications
  • Calibrate analytical equipment on a timely schedule, maintain test equipment and supplies orderly and identify and drive continuous improvements.
  • Raising OFI reports in a timely manner
  • Supporting internal audit programs including GMP, glass and hard plastic audits
  • Building and maintaining relationships with the site operations teams, customer service, suppliers/subcontractors, sales and customers

What will you bring to the role?


The key skills and behaviours we are looking for are:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or Laboratory Technology (required)
  • Experience in a food processing environment
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and food safety standards, for example, HACCP/BRCGS
  • Selfmotivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Great time management
  • Hungry for learning and development
  • Proactive attitude towards safety
