We are currently seeking a
Philanthropy Associate to join a great team that values collaboration, respect and integrity, with an aspirational growth plan.

This role is suited to a highly motivated fundraiser or business development professional with proven experience in meeting targets, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.


You will play an integral role in the Foundation and have an opportunity to facilitate life-changing impact within the local community.

You will work alongside dynamic leaders to inspire others to make a difference.


You will be responsible for facilitating major gift and gift in will donations, developing strong, ongoing and effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and raising the awareness of philanthropy within the community.


This position is being offered as a 2 year contract for a 0.6FTE (22.8 hours weekly) part time role, based in
Geelong, Victoria.


St John of God Geelong Hospital is just an hour out of Melbourne's CBD, and is the largest private hospital in regional Victoria providing a comprehensive range of acute services to the rapidly growing coastal city., The modern and up-to-date hospital has a 24/7 accident and emergency department, a comprehensive surgical program supported by a 12-bed critical/intensive care unit, rapidly growing cardiology, medical, rehabilitation, and cancer services

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • 5+ years' experience in professional fundraising, business development, relationship management, stakeholder relations or a partnerships role.
  • Outstanding demonstrated interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and represent the Foundation to the highest standards.
  • Professional copywriting and editing skills with a high level of attention to detail, preferably with experience in fundraising communications, such as impact reports, stewardship communications, press releases, and speech writing.
  • Experience in website content development, using content management systems (e.g. Sitecore) and a functional use of graphic design platforms (e.g. Adobe software, Canva, etc. Basic level skills in InDesign or other design programs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write high quality proposals, reports, plans and correspondence.
  • Intermediate to advanced computing skills, particularly MS Office and experience using a Donor Management System such as Raiser's Edge, or similar.
  • Flexibility to work outside of usual business hours as required on events important to the Foundation.
  • High standards of personal and professional integrity.
  • Selfmotivated and committed to achieving for the organisation, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Salary: $90,000 to $100,000, plus 11% superannuation
