About the role
The position of Documentation Manager forms part of the Transactions Legal (TL) team.


The purpose of the role of Documentation Manager is to manage the drafting, negotiation and execution of Global Financial Markets (GFM) (including Corporate Risk & Treasury Management and Agribusiness Risk Treasury Management) documentation and related matters in Rabobank Australia & New Zealand Group (RANZG) in the Wholesale, MAC and Rural spaces.


Some of the key accountabilities include:

  • Assist both the Head Counsel, Transactions Legal and the Lead Markets Documentation Manager in providing high quality legal services to its stakeholders as required.
  • Draft, negotiate and arrange the execution of all documentation pertaining to the GFM business (both standard and complex bespoke).
  • Assisting front office where there are departures from Rabobank prescribed requirements to articulate these for internal approvals (where necessary)
  • Advise and assist GFM Operations with Confirmations and other ancillary documents and matters arising on request.
  • Review trust deeds/constitutions/statutory instruments for appropriate power to enter into derivative transactions & check that documentation has been duly executed.
  • Arrange for recording of completed documentation in relevant systems and transfer of original documents to relevant Rabobank area for storage purposes.
  • Maintain a register and schedule of documentation "in place" and "under negotiation".
  • Helping to maintain local manuals, policies and procedures from the legal perspective, in relation to standard GFM documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements of relevant regulatory authorities such as ASIC, RBA, APRA.
  • Act as first point of contact for GFM documentation for various stakeholders (including Front Office/Branches/GFM Sales, Credit, Compliance and Head Office).
  • Proactive engagement & communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory/legislative developments and participate in projects/working groups as required; and

To be successful you will have

  • Undergraduate degree from an Australian university and completion of relevant AFMA/ISDA/Industry courses
  • Experience in a financial institution, with a focus on the production of financial markets documentation
  • Experience of advising on & documenting transactions and products offered in the GFM space.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting derivatives; and
  • Practical understanding of banking products, systems, risk management and lending processes and procedures
