The Workforce Australia Provider Support Division

The Department's Employment and Workforce Group delivers and supports national policies and programs that help Australians to find and keep a job, change jobs or create their own job through self-employment.

Within this Group is our Workforce Australia Provider Support Division, responsible for frontline stakeholder engagement across all levels of government and industry.

The Division uses its position within each state and territory, to inform strategic, evidence-based responses to labour market needs and to advance government priorities.

The Division has strong relationships with training and employment services providers, employers and industry associations as well as strategic relationships with other Commonwealth, State/Territory and local government agencies.

The Division also works closely with our department's policy and program areas.


The NSW ACT State Office
This role is with the NSW ACT State Office, within the #TeamDEWR State Network. In the NSW ACT State Office, we undertake our work across 13 unique Employment Regions. Our people are dispersed across NSW and the ACT with offices in Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Orange.

Although we are dispersed and widespread, we operate as One Team and we are committed to building a high performing team culture that is underpinned by our team values and behaviours and a commitment to the APS Values.

Teams located in these offices oversee the employment programs delivered by providers contracted to the department.

These include the main flagship program Workforce Australia, which includes Provider Services, Transition to Work, and Self Employment Assistance just to name a few, and other broader support programs such as ParentsNext and the Local Jobs Program.


The Role

As a Delivery and Engagement Officer, you will work as part of a flexible delivery team operating in a challenging and changing environment.

You will be involved in implementing labour market strategies, contributing to regional place-based projects, monitoring contract performance, contract administration and engaging with stakeholders.

You will need to demonstrate a high level of productivity, resourcefulness, initiative and flexibility to deliver results with key skills in administration, written and verbal communication and data analysis to support the wider team.


Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Delivery and Engagement Officer may include:

  • Work as a team member to monitor contracted providers compliance with deed and guidelines within Employment Regions.
  • Identifying, managing, and building relationships with targeted stakeholders to enhance the outcomes for participants.
  • Liaising with Stakeholders and confidently presenting messages in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
  • Contributing and supporting activities and modelling behaviours that drive a positive workplace culture.
  • Undertaking administrative functions within the team.
  • Some domestic travel is required, which may include 1 or more consecutive nights away.

Qualifications and Education

  • A driver's licence is highly desirable, or the ability to attain one.

Eligibility

Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department, you must be an Australian Citizen or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining it.
