Company Description:

Our large retail client is based in the Ingleburn distribution hub of NSW. They deliver supplies to their stores across the NSW network. They have a very strong commitment to health and safety.


They are currently seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join their team, who will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, managing safety programs, and implementing best practices across the site operations.


Responsibilities:

As the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures in line with company objectives and state legislation
  • Providing guidance, advice, and support to operations managers and employees to ensure a safe working environment
  • Conducting regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Developing and delivering safety training and awareness programs to improve safety culture and reduce incidents
  • Managing incident and injury reporting, investigation, and followup processes
  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans and business continuity plans
  • Maintaining accurate safety records and reporting to senior management on safety performance and trends
  • Liaising with external regulators, auditors, and stakeholders on safety matters
  • Keeping up to date with changes in safety legislation and best practices, and recommending improvements to safety policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, min. Cert IV WHS
  • At least 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a warehousing and logistics environment
  • Knowledge of state WHS legislation and regulations
  • Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement and site safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Experience in emergency response planning and business continuity management
