What you will be doing


The Response Assessment Discharge (RAD) Team works as part of the wider Emergency Department (ED) team with a focus on facilitating patients to be safely discharged from the ED.

The team is seeking an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or nurse to join the team on a Part time basis - limited and permanent positions available.

The RAD team operates with a trans-disciplinary model and provides assessment and discharge care coordination for patients of the Emergency Departments of Peninsula Health.

RAD clinicians provide patient assessment and intervention according to the discipline scope of practice within the RAD Clinician role.

Operationally the position will report daily through to the Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) of ED and then to the Operations Director of ED.

Professionally the role will report through to the RAD Senior Clinician who will escalate to the Director of Allied Health for delegation to the relevant Head of Allied Health discipline.


What you need

  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current registration through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong capability to utilise digital health systems
  • Commitment to improving quality and safety of patient care
  • Demonstrated experience in background profession relevant to patients with complex needs and/or chronic health conditions
  • Experience working in an acute health care setting
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct person centred assessments and determine the most appropriate intervention within transdisciplinary and background profession scope of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively
  • Committed to evidence based practice and own professional development
