About us

System Governance Unit (SG) is a unit within Governance and Integrity Policy (GIP), Integrity, Legal and Law Reform (ILLR) of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).


There are four teams in System Governance:

  • Appointments
  • which manages the high priority appointments of judicial officers and key board appointments within the Attorney-General's portfolio.
  • Governance Strategy and Review which is responsible for strategic reviews of key justice system entities, management of funding through the Appeal Costs Board, and providing support to the Judicial Entitlements Panel.
  • Legal Assistance: which drives the funding and reporting of services for the community legal sector at both Commonwealth and State level.
  • Honorary Justice Services Support which provides policy, daytoday management and operational oversight of Victoria's Honorary Justices.
About the role

The Honorary Justice Engagement Officer has a focus on strengthening the relationship with the cohort of volunteer honorary justices (Justices of the Peace and Bail Justices).

Working closely with the Manager and the Senior Stakeholder and Engagement Officer, the role will be involved in implementing identified communication and engagement strategies.

About you

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with proven experience producing a range of highquality communications materials.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience delivering communications and engagement advice.

This includes evidence of all doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).


Acceptable evidence includes:


  • COVID19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
  • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
