The role of a Claims Consultant is a challenging and rewarding role within the Life Insurance Industry.

It requires you to assess and adjudicate on claims made by individuals under their policies who are at their most vulnerable (sick or injured) efficiently, fairly, and honestly.

As a part of the role, you will at times interact with a variety of customers, doctors, accountants, lawyers, rehabilitation experts with a goal to make decisions.

It is different every day.

We recognise that when our customers come to us with a claim, they're setting out in a direction they didn't expect.

As the experts, our Claims team offers guidance and support, and help them navigate something they've probably never experienced before.

We make sure we're providing clarity and certainty every step of the way.

Job Description:

Location :
Sydney & Melbourne

Must be available for a 26 June Start Date

You will form part of the Foundation team and in your first 4 months of participation in the program, you will receive dedicated training and support to achieve your first claims delegation within that time period.

Under your employment at TAL, we offer a full and comprehensive training program called "Foundation" where we teach you how to assess claims from the start

Daily activities include:

Independently manage a portfolio of life insurance claims endtoend
Assess, analyse, calculate, and finalise claims payments
Active engagement of external and internal specialists
Provide exceptional customer service and compliance
Participate in case conferences, peer case discussions, and instructing third party service providers

Qualifications:

We're looking for talented individuals with transferable skills and knowledge who want to join in our mission of 'being by your side for life' to positively impact Australians.

We will consider all work backgrounds; however, tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded including:

Nursing and allied health, physiotherapy, chiropracting, remedial massage or sports injury;
Counselling or psychology
Accounting, legal, finance and tax professionals;
You may also have a background in Work Cover, CTP, health, or travel claims assessing/management

A high attention to detail
Experience with supporting people through crisis management, rehab or recovery and utilising your knowledge towards a role where you can continue servicing and helping people in a corporate environment
Ability to deal effectively with financial planners and selfemployed individuals and to help them make good financial decisions
