ABOUT THE ROLE:


  • As a key member of the HR and Healthy Ageing division (circa 5000 employees) and working collaboratively with the GM HR and the Healthy Ageing Leadership Team, the Human Resources Manager will support and partner with key stakeholders and Managers across Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Seniors Living to provide quality HR operational and strategic support and solutions to execute business strategy. This role will be covering a maternity leave contract for 12 months unless otherwise extended. The Mercy Health HR team is a large and diverse one (circa 40+ staff) with HR generalists and HR specialists thus creating a lot of opportunities for future permanent roles.
  • This position will also lead the Healthy Ageing HR Business Partners and HR Officers to facilitate bestpractice HR principles and processes. The position will focus on various HR components including recruitment, orientation, workforce planning, performance management, performance reviews, return to work, change management, award interpretation and ad hoc projects.
  • Flexible work location based at Richmond with some travel across sites and working from home option
  • Work collaboratively with members of local and Group HR teams
  • Provide day to day management on HR matters
  • Travel is required as part of this position to establish a presence within the business region.

ABOUT YOU:


  • An exceptional people leader
  • Strong customer focused results driven HR professional with a strong work ethic
  • Tertiary qualified in HR or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in a HR generalist, HR Manager or senior HR business partnership role
  • Experience working in the aged care, health or community services industry or in a multisite environment is preferred (not essential)
  • Familiar working with relevant awards and Enterprise Agreements and unions
  • Able to provide timely recommendations and advice
  • Ability to build effective and efficient working relationships with key stakeholders and the wider HR team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of team
