What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health Mental Health Service is committed to the principles of Recovery

  • Orientated Practice. We actively support and encourage consumer and carer participation in all aspects of planning and delivery of mental health services.

The Hospital Outreach Post-suicide Engagement (HOPE) initiative provides support for people who have either attempted suicide or been identified as at-risk of suicide.

This is a part time position working 64 hours / fortnight.


What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Experience as a Family Carer Peer Worker
  • A personal identification with caring experience of supporting someone through mental health challenges and understanding of recovery that inspires hope and optimism
  • Formal or willing to attain qualifications for this role
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, Intentinonal Peer Support Training, Single Session Peer Consultation, Single Session Family Consulation
  • Demonstrated ability and relevant skills acquired through a lived experience of mental illness, in providing a carers experience.

  • Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT for salary range. Subgrading will be based on years of experience.
This role must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and meet the requirements of the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.
