About this role
For over 10 years,
Post Adoption Support Queensland (PASQ) has supported people whose lives have been affected by adoption.


Join us as the dynamic leader of our
Post Adoption Support Queensland (PASQ) team Reporting directly to the Manager, you will spearhead a team of counsellors dedicated to providing comprehensive support to clients impacted by adoption.


Your role? Lead with passion and empathy, guiding your team to deliver top-notch services, including counselling, search and intermediary services, therapeutic groups, and professional development.

You will provide hands-on support, mentoring, and high-quality supervision, empowering your team to thrive both personally and professionally.


With your expert leadership, we will continue to make a meaningful impact on our clients' lives, while also meeting departmental funding agreements and reporting demands with ease.


Duties

  • Lead your team to maximise client outcomes, meet compliance objectives, and ensure organisational vision and values are integrated into everyday practice.
  • Collaborate with your Manager to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness, identifying opportunities for process improvement and sustainable practices.
  • Support team members in achieving performance expectations, building capability, and fostering employee engagement through regular recognition and talent development.
  • Evaluate service delivery quality, client plans, and outcomes against objectives, addressing gaps in delivery and building team capability for improved service design.

Skills and Experience

You will have a
tertiary (degree) qualification and:


  • Understanding of the key issues surrounding adoption such as trauma and its impact, reunion issues, the historical context of forced adoption, and the position and views of differing stakeholders in the adoption space
  • Experience delivering trauma informed evidencebased programs and therapeutic services using a family systems approach
  • Demonstrated practice skills working therapeutically with children and families, preferably in a post adoption service
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, with knowledge of search and outreach practices applied when acting as an intermediary
  • Great people skills and capacity to engage with people from all walks of life
  • Current driver's license (pool cars are available so you don't need to use your own vehicle)
