The Role:

***This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Manager to join our dedicated International directorate to strengthen international trade and investment growing the South Australian economy


The Manager, International:

Greater China, North East Asia and South East Asia will manage and direct the DTI Greater China, North East Asia and South East Asia teams based in Adelaide and is responsible for the coordination and provision of an efficient and effective project and planning function in DTI that supports the interactions between DTI, its business clients and the Greater China, North East Asia and South East Asia trade and investment offices to facilitate export and investment initiatives.


The Manager, International:

Greater China, North East Asia and South East Asia is responsible for connecting and liaising with South Australian businesses pursuing investment and trade outcomes in targeted sectors with the overseas office network.


In this connect the position will:

  • Coordinate and work in collaboration with staff of the South Australian trade and investment offices across Greater China, North East Asia and South East Asia, DTI international staff, departmental sectorial experts and key stakeholders across government and businesses.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic focus and direction of the International Directorate.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of key stakeholder relationships and strategies.
  • Provide advice and leadership on market opportunities to the Minister and DTI Executive.
  • Lead and have oversight of highlevel, complex research and delivers business process improvement and program management activities.
  • Develop and deliver senior inbound and outbound visit programs, trade delegations and major offshore events.

About You:

***To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of key sectors of opportunity in trade and investment in Greater China, North East Asia and the South East Asia region.
  • Broad knowledge of the issues involved in the provision of government assistance to private business organisations.
  • South understanding of relevant State, Commonwealth and Local Government relationships and demonstrated ability to develop networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, conceptually and creatively and analyse and resolve complex business problems.
  • Extensive experience in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of market engagement strategies, policies and programs.

Desirable Qualification:

***Tertiary qualifications in international engagement, business, economics, or related field is desirable.


Special Conditions

  • Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
  • Language skills relevant to the priority markets (desirable).

Remuneration:

***ASO8 - $119,317 - $123,822
