The Division


Within the Corporate Services branch of TfNSW is the Transport Shared Services (TSS) responsible to provide business support to more than 26000 customers.

Additionally, TSS services over 300,000 external customers ranging from Local Government representatives to citizens.

Over the last year, TSS has implemented a strategy to lead the direction of the organisation towards workforce digitisation, emphasising customer experience and growing the business's value proposition and services.


The opportunity


Right now, we have a permanent opportunity for a Team Leader Finance Services to join TfNSW within our TSS Service Centre.

You will be responsible for managing a team that provides enquiry and transactional processing services in a multi-channel environment and building a strong customer-service culture.


Your Key accountabilities are:

  • Manage and coordinate the team and resources to deliver high quality, seamless and responsive enquiry and transactional services, ensuring that approved procedures and processes are consistently applied to deliver services in a compliant and efficient manner.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge and information sharing and continuous learning in the team, undertake regular quality assessments and drive ongoing improvements to customer experience by improved processes, systems and the knowledge base.
  • Manage the work schedule for the team and optimise the allocation of work across the team to ensure effective resource utilisation and meeting of service standards.

About you:


You will have previously worked as a Team leader preferably in a large and complex organisation delivering to multiple stakeholders or another public sector department.

You will have a Customer Service focus and have worked in an agile environment having promoted change within your team.


Most importantly you will have a passion for development, understand workforce planning, have the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally, influence & train a diverse group of direct reports as required.

You will demonstrate a great work ethic, provide high quality reports, analytics and identify continuous improvement opportunities.


Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is a Grade 7 ($108,770 - $121,822) per annum, plus superannuation and leave loading.
