We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Events Coordinator in
Melbourne, Hobart, Newcastle and Wollongong **to join our Events team.

The role will involve the coordination of a variety of events to highlight the rewarding and abundance roles within the Australian Defence Force.

Description


Reporting to the Events Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for assisting with planning and coordination of events and engagement as detailed in DFR's National Events and Engagement Strategy, that maximise exposure in support of national recruiting targets.


As the Events Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, administer and deliver events according to the events brief, including the development and creation of events plan and roadmaps.


You will:


  • Understand the Recruiting Operations and wider DFR's recruiting targets and needs and respond to these appropriately through the delivery of exceptional events and engagement, producing a return on investment for DFR.
  • Take direction and guidance from the Events Delivery Lead, reporting to the Events Delivery Lead on all activities, including a postevent report, as and when required.
  • Confirm and clearly communicate event operational requirements, including travel, service providers, engagement with ADF etc.
  • Manage and oversee events on the day of, including problem solving, directing event set up, operations and bump out, communicating and working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Carry out administrative and operational tasks associated with coordinating an event.
  • Complete financial reporting as required by the business and contribute to the ongoing achievement of team budgets.
  • Create and maintain a positive relationship with all stakeholders and colleagues, ensuring an exceptional level of service to the Commonwealth of Australia to ensure a collaborative approach to achievement for DFR.

Profile


To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within Events teams and with stakeholders to bring together successful events with outstanding impact.


Your background will demonstrate:


  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional relationship building capability
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple activities
  • Minimum 2 years event experience within the events or hospitality field
  • Customer centric and energetic approach to your work
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
