An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training and Capability Advisor role within the SafeWork and Systems Team, Building, Business & Workplace Safety (BBWS).

The Training and Capability Advisor role will provide specialist advice on the development, implementation and evaluation of learning and capability programs which support and align to key organisational programs and objectives.


Key responsibilities:


  • Identify, assess, and analyse current workforce capability levels and gaps to build organisational capabilities to support and achieve business objectives
  • Design, deliver, implement, and evaluate training programs and materials using a range of delivery modes to build workforce capability Provide expert advice to stakeholders in the development, implementation and evaluation of the business's plans, priorities and strategies for learning and development to assist managers to translate this direction into team and individual development plans
  • Assist managers and staff to analyse learning and capability needs to identify the mix of knowledge and skills required to provide quality service and ensure desired outcome are achieved
  • Work with key stakeholders to promote the development and acceptance of a learning culture in the workplace

Key challenges:


  • Maintaining an awareness of current industry developments to ensure highquality training is delivered that consistently aligns to organisational objectives within an agile and continuously changing environment
  • Managing priorities to meet the challenges of a demanding and complex workload, whilst ensuring high level accuracy and quality of work
  • Negotiating and reprioritising training schedules, given heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and conflicting highlevel commitments

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and facilitating training programs.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Confidence in facilitating, training, conversations, coaching and support team members through change.
  • Collaborate with the business to identify trends, themes and lessons learned to bridge any identified knowledge gaps.
  • The ability to manage self and work as part of a highly engaged team.
  • Have a cando attitude and a passion for customer service, and experience in building a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Hold a current Training and Assessment qualification.
  • Implement an evaluation process to improve and identify the success of the intended training outcome.
