Primary Accountabilities
- Actively lead and support a Safety culture within the team by adopting the Culture of Care practice.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise production efficiencies in keeping with meeting customer and business requirements.
- Develop and monitor, report on operational KPIs, and initiate corrective actions when required.
- Ensure all products are made on time to specification and dispatched on time.
- Lead the development of production based continuous improvement objectives.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance processes are in place and coordinate any contract maintenance as required.
- Review all incoming goods collections on packaging materials plus any other high level spends.
- Coordinate in conjunction with Branch Manager quarterly stock takes.
- Receipt of goods in a timely manner to ensure system is live.
- Ensure loading of trucks is done safely and efficiently.
- Controls stock of pallets and orders as required.
- Liaise with customer and couriers with regards to distribution.
- Ensure all pallet dockets correspond with invoice details and reconcile pallet transactions to outside stores daily.
- Ensure appropriate inspection of incoming materials/supplies against orders.
- Ensure that finished goods storage is appropriate to minimise damage and double handling.
- Develop and recommend improvements in supply and warehouse practices to promote greater efficiency.
- Arrange for the quarantine of returned product.
- Based on customer demand develop a valid, feasible production schedule, daily, for finishes goods and component items based on equipment, labour, and raw material availability.
- Schedule all work in order to minimise WIP and maximise throughput volume and speed.
- Achieve target customer service levels and stock levels based on forecast error and bias trends, manufacturing capacity/flexibility and customer service and inventory turn goals.
- Plan freight run for next day to maximise full utilisation of trucks.
- Drive the ongoing development of the business quality system with the Quality Coordinator.
- Ensure all production and warehouse activities are carried out consistently with the quality system and quality objectives of the business.
- Thoroughly investigate quality issues using a structured problem solving process, provide feedback to employees and customers and put in place corrective actions as prevention.
- Identify process capability issues which impact quality performance.
- Monitor quality performance and ensure corrective action is taken and to provide customer feedback on issues raised.
- Use continuous improvement techniques to drive improvements in all areas of production and warehousing.
- Ensure standardised processes and conditions are developed, understood, implemented and used across all teams on both coater and winder to meet customer and business requirements.
- Participate and lead in continuous improvement projects by implementing lean manufacturing and where appropriate statistical process controls.
- Set goals and development plans with the team and track progress against set goals.
- Regularly track performance against KPIs and frequently communicate progress to business stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing coaching to the team to improve customer performance, operational efficiency and the like.
- Develop, build and foster an engaged high performance culture across the team through effective leadership and management, demonstrating clear alignment with company values and behaviour.
- Performance Management moving beyond compliance to a true performance culture.
- Proactively identify ways of improving the effectiveness of teamwork.

Person Specification
- Preferably tertiary qualification in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Trade qualification in Printing or other manufacturingbased qualification is also desirable and can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to learning and personal development.
- At least 3 years' experience in production management or managing a warehouse within a distribution environment.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, modern manufacturing, and supply chain systems.
- Strong knowledge of planning techniques and supply chain principles.
- Highly developed communication skills with ability to collaborate productively and professionally with all levels of people.
- Proactive, organized, and meticulous.
- Ability to prioritise and work to tight demands.
