The Opportunity:


  • The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL6 Broadcasting Administration Manager position within the Parliamentary Broadcasting section, Digital Recording Services Branch. Parliamentary Broadcasting provides a range of broadcasting services (television, audio and AV) to the Australian Parliament.

Immediate supervisor:
Assistant Director, Parliamentary Broadcasting

  • Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the PSL 6 classification.
The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • 1. Confidently manage the daytoday operations of the Broadcasting section including leading the administrative team, liaising with diverse stakeholder groups, developing practical team rosters, and facilitating costeffective travel arrangements for away committees.
  • Coordinate and maintain overall control of rostering and travel workflows, ensuring that the team is fully utilized and operating effectively and efficiently to meet parliamentary service delivery requirements and expectations.
  • Identify the training and professional development needs of the team and determine ways to address skill gaps. This may include (but is not limited to) developing procedural/instructional documentation, promoting knowledge sharing, and identifying relevant training courses.

Note:
Employees may be deployed to duties of an equivalent level in the section to meet changing work priorities. They will be required to work extended and/or irregular hours on an "as required" basis. Performing Parliamentary Broadcasting Officer duties may require interstate travel as directed

  • Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._

Salary:

Currently, the salary range for this position is $90,634 - $101,866 per annum.


Conditions of Employment:

- _Parliamentary Service Act 1999_ which include:


  • Australian citizenship
  • to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.

Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
