As the SEM Lead, you will require strong data driven search advertising expertise and provide thought leadership around campaign structure, optimisation and channel development.

This role requires an SEM Lead to manage a team of highly skilled SEM Analysts providing expertise and knowledge around SEM and best practices.

Your team is responsible for managing, delivering and optimising SEM campaigns across multiple brand sites.

You will be a highly motivated individual with passion for digital marketing and experience in multiple stakeholder management, team management and campaign planning.


The SEM Lead will also develop and maintain relationships with key digital suppliers and technical partners who support the Qantas businesses and our partners.

The role is intended to bring expertise and thought leadership in the digital media arena to Qantas' endeavours and is responsible for driving the evolving roadmap to exceed client expectations.


What you'll bring to the role:

  • At least 4-5 Years prior SEM experience across multiple industries
  • Ability to influence future marketing activity by data-driven insights derived from previous campaigns
  • Delivery of actionable insights tailored to multiple audiences of all levels (from technical analysts and marketers to senior management)
  • Identification of operational efficiencies at every opportunity
  • Effective triage and prioritisation of operational and tactical issues
  • Actively pursue high risk project areas, and resolve issues impacting on project delivery
  • SEM strategies and campaign management
  • Strong performance media background
  • Solid analytical and statistical training/background is ideal
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of SEM platforms such as Adwords, SA360, Google Merchant Center, Adthena and more
  • Experience with Meta Search campaigns highly regarded
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Solid understanding of digital advertising concepts and terms
  • Excellent client service approach and ability to multitask with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
  • High level of communication, you need to be able to articulate and communicate with the team and clients
  • Experience educating and sharing knowledge with the team and clients on SEM best practices and trends
