THE ROLE AS A OPERATIONS MANAGER
***The function of the Operations Manager is to support the State Processing Manager, managing the direct day-to-day operational activities of Vehicle Processing Centre as well leading, developing, and implementing successful

management strategies.

As a Operations Manager you will also lay out the who, what, when and how of our daily operations - defining how our labour, facilities and financial resources will be allocated to achieve our short
- and long-term goals.


RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Organise the planning, leading and control of all production and yard operational service effectively in order to meet requirements
  • Perform monthly P&L reporting, investigate, and articulate the variance.
  • Provide day to day support, mentoring and leading including development of team members
  • Promote a continuous improvement service culture within the branch and implement quality principles
  • Control the total labour force except for the office staff by working with the various supervisors;
  • Control the hiring of casual labour to match the level of activity
  • Control the work of any subcontractors working on site
  • Assess the need for overtime to meet fluctuations in demand
  • Ensure Quality System and total quality management is implemented and understood for all aspects of service,
- workmanship, procedures, work instructions and conformance to company standards

  • Ensure the timely processing of vehicles and liaise with clients and client liaison officers to assure this
  • Review all measuring equipment calibration records and arrange for retesting/calibration as required
  • Supervise the operation of the parts store to ensure adequate stock levels and quarantine of defective parts
  • To oversee that housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Organise and manage stock takes as required
  • Perform or assist with quality audits and implement any corrective actions where necessary.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years' management experience
  • Operations Manager Experience
  • A leader that inspires, motivates, encourages and develops their team
  • A leader with high emotional intelligence
  • Proven skills in multitasking, managing meeting tight deadlines
  • Welldeveloped decisionmaking ability
  • Ability to remain calm during highpressure situations
  • An enthusiastic and clear communicator
  • Experience in people management
  • A natural ability to build strong relationships at a variety of levels
  • Reliable and a dedicated individual with drive and energy
  • Initiative and flexibility in your approach to work
  • High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Track record of responsibility when handling high profile assets
  • A 'manual' driver's (minimum of 3 years) license is essential
  • Prior experience in the auto industry an advantage
  • Mechanical/ electrical aptitude an advantage
