About the Role
The ideal applicant will be an individual with experience in the food transport industry who has managed a small team previously and is able to manage a variety of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels for all positions in the logistics area
- Document and report to the General Manager any disciplinary problems encountered and be actively involved in investigations and followup actions
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure they are aware of changing requirements to effectively perform their duties
- Team recruitment in conjunction with the General Manager as required
- Induction, training and performance reviews of Logistics team, alongside the General Manager
- Work closely with logistics staff to coordinate timely delivery of products to customers/receivers
- Ensure interwarehouse transfer of goods are coordinated and documented correctly
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with the safety and quality systems
- Coordinate movements and reconciliation of CHEP/Loscam pallets as required ensuring counts and documentation are accurate
- Act with a sense of urgency in dealing with the incidents causing logistics or product downtime or wastage
- Troubleshoot logistics problems and take appropriate action
- Assist with implementation of NSW food safety requirements and company quality standards
- Monitor product quality, documenting any anomalies in nonconformance records
- Regular communication meetings (Toolbox talks) with the logistics and warehouse teams
- Warehouse and logistics experience with at least 1 years' experience in a team leadership capacity required
- Safety and quality standards development and involvement within implementation is an advantage
- Highly effective planning, organising and problemsolving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills which are required to deal with both drivers and management staff
- Committed/accountable 'can do' attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish
- Ability to adapt to new processes or other changes in a positive manner
- Current valid Forklift license is essential
- Truck license highly regarded
- Completion of Year 12 or equivalent education
