Description
Role and Responsibilities

The maintenance of the highest standards of safety and discipline during all stages of training.

Conduct training in a flight simulator, training devices (FSTD) and theoretical knowledge instruction


Ensuring that the instructing approval granted by the Authority is valid before conducting any training which requires him /her to exercise the privileges of that approval.

Conduct the training as directed and scheduled by the ATO

Conducting the training as directed by the Training Manager

Assisting the Training Manager in the preparation of course programs and classroom presentations when required.

SI may conduct instruction in the issue, revalidation and renewal of type ratings, MCC and Jet Familiarization training, and / or any other CAE approved trainings

Conversant with the ATO / client manual, policies and instructions.

Responsible for conducting pre and post flight simulator briefings in a thorough, professional manner and in accordance with CAE standards

Compile student training progress and theoretical examination reports

Reporting cases of sub-standard student performance or failure to meet the theoretical examination requirements via the relevant reporting channel as per the published process


Compile factual and comprehensive report(s) on student performance and / or participate in any meeting(s), skill development courses as directed by the Training Manager.

Participates in creation of curricula and courseware where required.

Other required administrative duties ( completes training records, recommends remedial training when necessary, track own instructional qualifications, etc.)

Any relevant duties / tasks as assigned by the Training Manager

SI reports directly to Training Manager


Qualifications & Skills:

Shall hold or have held an ICAO recognised ATPL

Minimum 5000 hours Total Flight Time including 4000 hours on Boeing / Airbus or the equivalent Transport category aircraft

Minimum 1000 hours PIC on Boeing / Airbus or equivalent Transport aircraf t

A220 Instructor Qualification and have instructed on type (FSTD or aircraft) within the last 12 months.

Minimum 250 hours instructional experience on the A220

Basic Computer skills, strong prioritization and time management skills.

English language - Minimum ICAO level 5 with good written and verbal communication skills.

High level of self-discipline and motivated.


Ability to:

Right to live and work in Australia

Eligible to hold an ASIC clearance (Aviation Security Identification Card)

Acquire a Simulator instructor license issued by CA SA (Australia) assisted by CAE

Successfully complete the initial aeronautical knowledge exams/ training for the issue of a Simulator Instructor Rating -CASA

Instruct and facilitate in a training environment & u se training aids effectively.

Prepare students for t raining.

State the training objectives and follow the lesson plan.

Confirm training objectives are achieved and provide feedback to the trainee.


Plan the lesson and the delivery method to be used a nd assist students to ensure satisfactory progress through the course within established timelines.

Teach by example' by behaving as an exemplary role model to students promoting professional, disciplined and safe behavior


Attention to detail, self-motivated and independent, ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven situation, able to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and deadlines.

Sound analytical skills and ability to make prudent and logical decisions in high pressured situations.


Working conditions:

A typical classroom environment, full flight simulators and ground-based procedural trainers.

Subject to critical deadlines, extended hours and shifts as scheduled.

May be required to w ork during weekends and public holidays. #LI-Remote
