The Client & Role:


Our client for this role is a growing NFP organisation based in the Western Suburbs, they're currently looking for a Cyber Security Analyst with Hands-on experience with ISO 27001/2, Essential 8 and Penetration Testing.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the development of the organization's cyber security strategy providing guidance and recommendations on trends and industry analysis.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of system variabilities and participate in the patching and management of vulnerabilities.
  • Review threat intelligence feeds and media publications for uptodate information about emerging cyber security threats.
  • Conduct real time monitoring, analysis and triage of security events and alerts from multiple sources including, but not limited to, events from the Security Information and Event Tools, Log files, firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint detection and response, and endpoint protection
  • Proactively maintain the security of computing systems through reviewing SIEM alerts and Microsoft 365 security notifications and other data sources
  • Assist in delivery of software upgrades and security updates as part of security practice.
  • Adhere and participate in review of Essential 8, ISO27001 and other recommended security baselines as directed.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations with relation to data protection and implementation of DLP tools and data classification techniques.
  • Assist in the preparation of Thirdparty Vendor Risk Assessments.

Required Skills & Specialisms:


  • Experienced in managing cyber security and threats for medium of large organisation.
  • Experienced in managing cyber security and threats for medium of large organisation.
  • Knowledgeable in ICT Disaster Recovery, ICT & Business Continuity & Crisis Management and Cyber Security and Business Resilience good practices such as ISO 27001/2 and the Business Continuity Institutes good practice guide.
  • Understanding of Victorian Cyber Security strategy, Essential 8 framework, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) cyber security framework, and VPDSS (Victorian Protective Data Security Standards)
  • Basic understanding of system development lifecycle methodology, operating system, and database platforms.
