Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Supervisor to join the Saunders Asset Maintenance Services team based onsite in Altona, Victoria.

As Mechanical Supervisor you will Ensure quality work is maintained by all personnel and sub-contractors whilst building, maintaining and fostering client relationships, with the focus of providing additional services and support.


The
Mechanical Supervisor interacts with Leading Hands, Boilermakers, Fitters, Riggers, Trades Assistants, Subcontractors, Site Management Team, Project Manager, Project Engineers, Storemen, other Supervisors, Saunders Corporate Management and Client Representatives.


THE ROLE
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver work in accordance with design method statements and drawings.
  • Complete labour task activity time keeping for all Projects assigned daily.
  • Plans the work and ensures that deadlines are met.
  • Assist in job planning of labour and materials to complete the quoted works as set out by the estimate or better.
  • Always maintain a clean and safe work site, ensuring the safety for all employees, individuals, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper Safe Work Instructions, Job Risk Assessments and Safe Work Method Statements are completed, issued, and adhered to in accordance with company systems.
  • Strict compliance with all policies and procedures such as engineering method statements or company OH&S requirements.
  • Report potential industrial relation problems.
  • Ensure quality work is maintained by all personnel and subcontractors.
  • Ensure correct materials ordering procedures are adhered to by checking received materials against packing list and notifying project management team if there are any discrepancies.
  • Complete ITPs, weld maps and any other quality records with assistance from the construction supervisor.
  • Prepare and run toolbox meeting and prestart meeting with the team.
  • Review of existing SWMS for further enhancement and present content of SWMS to the team
  • The work may be indoors/outdoors, involved confined spaces/work at heights and can be physically demanding. The job may require additional licences/tickets.

Plant Maintenance

  • Ensures all plant and equipment onsite is maintained in a serviceable condition and reports any damage to equipment immediately to the Project Manager and/or Equipment and Stores Lead
  • Verify daily plant inspections are conducted, recorded, and reported.
  • Ensure specific plant VOC's are undertake prior to equipment operations
  • Ensure periodical servicing and certification, per manufacture requirements is undertaken.

ABOUT YOU

_ Essential _

  • Demonstrated experience in Mechanical supervisory capacity
  • The ability to build, maintain and foster client and team relationships
  • Trade qualification/degree
  • General WHS Induction for Construction (White/Blue Card)
  • RTO Confined Space Enter & Work RIIWHS202E
  • RTO Work at Heights RIIWHS204E


  • RTO First Aid

  • Provide First Aid HLTAID01 10 years relevant experience
  • Computer Literate
  • Willing to review tasks and determine how they can be executed best to improve productivity.
  • Be flexible and open to different approaches, ideas, and ways of working to meet changing needs.

_Desirable _

  • 5 years' experience in tank building industry
  • Petrochemical, oil & gas experience.
