Position Information:

Jerrabomberra High School is a new school opening in 2023 with an anticipated enrolment of 150 students.

It is a comprehensive, co-educational high school proudly located in the township of Jerrabomberra on the border of NSW and the ACT, only 15kms from Canberra International Airport and a short drive to the Snowy Mountains or to the South Coast.


Jerrabomberra High School will commence with Year 7 and Year 8 in 2023 and will grow each year reaching Year 7 to Year 12 by 2027.? Our curriculum will be innovative and designed to allow students to learn and engage in modern, well resourced and future focused learning spaces.

Our culture will be truly inclusive, centred on ensuring every student is able to co-design their learning journey which aligns to their skills, interests and aspirations.

Our school will provide a learning environment based on high expectations, and the belief that all students will grow in their time at Jerrabomberra High School.

The school will be conscious of its role within the local and broader community, working closely with parents/carers and other community agencies to support student's academic, emotional and social development.? Students will develop real life, entrepreneurial skills to equip them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to best navigate their individual journey in a fast-changing world.? As a school we will build the capacity of all staff to promote and develop their pedagogical practice to ensure high expectations, positive behaviours and individualised success is achieved for all students.


The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Music outcomes across a range of cross-curricular courses.


Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach Music 7-12.


Knowledge and ability to develop, implement and evaluate innovative future-focused programs across multiple learning areas to foster a culture of continuous student growth.


Demonstrated ability to use assessment and evidence-based strategies to engage and support a diverse range of students by delivering dynamic and differentiated teaching.


Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to develop and deliver faculty and whole school programs to build on student experiences within Creative and Performing Arts.


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider community to enhance student outcomes.
