About the role


Leading a dynamic and growing team, the Organisational Development Program Manager (Corporate Performance) will facilitate transformative change within Education and build a culture focussed on impact and growth.

You will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and improving organisational development initiatives that empower our staff to reach their full potential and perform at their best.


In particular, you will drive a critical program of work to shape and embed a new performance and development framework, system and practices that enhance people performance across the Department's Public Service senior executive and Education Support (corporate) workforce.

You will also oversee the continuous improvement and delivery of Early Career programs aimed at building a strong, diverse pipeline of graduate and intern talent.


About you

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership capability with an ability to build a positive team culture and nurture and grow team members through effective coaching and development.
  • Experience in developing broadscale capability uplift strategies and driving behavioural change.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence effectively at all levels
  • Strategic mindset that allows you to envision innovative solutions to catalyse organisational effectiveness.
  • Comfort working in an ambiguous and fastpaced environment, adapting and learning as you go
  • An unwavering passion for doing things differently to create a positive impact.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology or a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Substantial experience planning and managing a range of human resource and performance initiatives supporting strategic change.

Experience in delivering sustainable and impactful frameworks and capability uplift programs in complex organisations.
