Description

Experis is seeking a skilled and experienced VMWare Engineer with NV1 clearance to join our VIP Client's team for an 11-month contract role with the possibility of a further 11-month extension.


As a VMWare Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and operating a VMware virtualisation platform using VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation)and ensuring the hardware and software components function efficiently.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain the VMware virtualisation platform using VCF, ensuring its smooth operation and optimal performance.
  • Design, test, and deploy new versions of VMware software to enhance the platform's capabilities and security.
  • Perform regular system status checks, including hardware and software assessments, to ensure the stability and reliability of the virtualisation environment.
  • Offer guidance and support to other technical team members on the development and operation of virtual machines within the VCF environment.
  • Establish and manage a backup and recovery service for the VCF platform to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Proactively manage the performance of the virtual infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to maintain the required performance levels.
  • Provide automation through VMware services to streamline and optimise operational tasks.
  • Swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any VMwarerelated issues to minimise downtime and disruptions to services.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Significant experience and expertise in working with VMware technologies, particularly VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
  • Possession of NV1 clearance is mandatory for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualisation hardware and software, with the ability to design, deploy, and manage VMwarebased solutions.
  • Proven ability to test and deploy new versions of VMware software effectively.
  • Experience in managing and optimising performance in virtual infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with automation through VMware services for improved efficiency.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and provide guidance to technical colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information effectively.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful development and operation of the VMware virtualisation platform using VCF.


The position is based onsite at our clients company offices in Canberra CBD and you will be expected to
work 5 days in the office allowing you to access the companies network and working closely with our team and stakeholders.
