We're a team of writers, journalists, strategists, account managers, designers, social media experts, PR specialists and digital marketers known for content marketing and communications that move the needle and get results.

We are now looking for an experienced Video and Motion Editor to join us in a newly created role. This is a great opportunity to join us at a very exciting time of growth.

This role is being offered as a part-time opportunity 3 days a week, on a 3 month contract basis initially.

The Editor - Video & Motion will work closely with the wider content team to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director's vision and meets the project's objectives and scope.

In short, you bring sight and sound together in order to tell a story.

The day to day will include:

Taking a brief that grasps the project vision and specifications
Reviewing a shooting script and raw material to ensure the final edits reflect the creative direction
Storytelling through the edit process, with varying levels of direction depending on the brief, production approach and raw material
Manipulating and editing motion content in a way that meets the brief
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence
Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
Create rough and final cuts
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
Consult with stakeholders from production to postproduction process
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry's best practices to maximise efficiency

What you will need:

5+ years proven experience as a video/motion editor
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
Demonstrable editing ability with a strong portfolio
Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
Creative mind and storytelling skills
Degree in film studies, cinematography or related field preferable
