They provide experienced, flexible, and innovative care solutions to ensure client's choice and dignity come first as well as meeting current and future care needs.


An exciting opportunity has become available for experienced, passionate and "hands-on"
Assistant Community Manager to oversee the operations of their Waterford West community.

They are looking for someone who thrives on building relationships and has demonstrated strong business acumen and leadership skills. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday-Friday based in
Waterford West.

About the Role:


Reporting to the Community Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the community, including managing employees, being accountable for the budget, addressing resident issues, overseeing administration, hospitality, and maintenance, while ensuring high levels of compliance are achieved.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide effective leadership and foster a positive team culture to achieve community key performance indicators.
  • Manage human resources, ensuring fair, equitable, and financially responsible practices, including performance appraisals, compliance, training, and education.
  • Support and manage the yearly meeting schedule, ensuring accurate documentation of minutes.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and facilitate good communication among stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with residents to resolve any issues promptly.
  • Facilitate residents' update meetings and the annual general meeting.
  • Support the movein and departure process, creating a positive experience for residents.
  • Assist with financial aspects, budgeting, legislation requirements, and audits.
  • Supervise maintenance and compliance to maintain excellent presentation standards.
  • Assist in managing rental tenancies, following relevant regulations, and support the sales team to drive occupancy in Leasehold communities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Aged Care, Community Services, Property, or Hospitality and/or equivalent relevant experience in a role
  • 2yrs+ experience in an operational based leadership role managing people and budgets
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to communicate at all levels to all stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the Retirement Villages Act (Qld) 1999 and the Residential Tenancies Act 2008 (not mandatory)
  • Strong commitment to organisational goals, customer service and a demonstrated capacity
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Takes pride in supporting and encouraging development of team members
  • Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities and work to timelines in a changing environment
  • Interest in ongoing personal and professional development, with a keen desire to grow
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of residents' and their families
  • Flexibility with hours when workload demands to support a 24/7, 365 day a year business
  • Current criminal check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Covid19 vaccine evidence (mandatory)
