Anglicare at Southern Cross provides Early Childhood Education and Care programs to children six weeks to eight years, located within the Southern Cross Early Childhood School in Scullin.

We provide out-of-school hours and school holiday programs for current students.

Our programs operate between 7.30 am and 6.00 pm on weekdays (excluding ACT public holidays and a 2-week shutdown over the Christmas/New Year period).


Join our welcoming team in a vital role where you will develop and deliver outstanding educational programs and practices, supporting children of all backgrounds.

As our OOSH Coordinator, you'll ensure positive, professional, and reciprocal relationships with children and families, creating an inclusive and responsive environment.


As an Outside School Hours Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of delivering innovative educational programs to children aged six weeks to eight years.

Your role is pivotal in leading our out-of-school hours and school holiday programs, where your expertise in frameworks like My Time, Our Place, and the Early Years Learning Framework will shine.


Your primary responsibilities will be:


  • Assisting the Director in ensuring that families and children, particularly those facing vulnerabilities, engage meaningfully in the program.
  • Maintaining and enhancing a positive workplace culture through the Sanctuary Model pillars.
  • Contributing to the service's improvement through the Quality Improvement Plan and Support Inclusion Plan.
  • Leading and mentoring educators to foster a constructive teaching environment, identifying professional development opportunities, and managing performance.
  • Leading by example and communicating best practices to the educator team to inspire high performance and a positive team environment.
  • Proactively addressing the needs of children and families, including effective communication with families regarding children's development.
  • Working collaboratively with the ACT Education Directorate to support longterm outcomes for children.

You are required to have:


  • ACECQAapproved Diploma of Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Current ACECQAapproved First Aid certificate, including CPR and a Food Safe Handling Certificate.
  • Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • At least one year of professional experience working with Preschoolage children.
  • Completion or willingness to undertake mandatory reporting training.
  • A deep understanding of the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standards, and the My Time, Our Place Framework for Learning.
