Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager - Psychosocial Risk

Human Resources (HR) support each of CommBank's business units through recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, remuneration benefits, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, project work and leadership development and training.


The role of the Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing team is to support the Group's commitment to fulfilling corporate and legal health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities by implementing and maintaining systems and processes to provide a safe and healthy place of work.


Do work that matters
Reporting to the Chief Mental Health Officer, you will:

  • Assist with the effective delivery of the Group's psychosocial safety strategy as part of our health, safety and wellbeing strategy, to all business units.
  • Develop and deliver on systems and processes to improve the Group's approach to reducing harm from psychosocial risks and improve psychosocial safety.
  • Initiate and undertake strategic analysis, research and case studies, utilising datadriven insights to enhance the program and improve outcomes.
  • Engage and consult with managers and business unit stakeholders to drive improvements in mental health and psychosocial safety performance and outcomes.
  • Provide professional, best practice advice and solutions that improve our psychological risk profile to help ensure that our people's mental health is enhanced through their employment.
  • Develop and deliver innovative strategies and solutions, tailored to team and business unit psychosocial risks.
  • Collaboratively work with other areas of the broader HS&W Team to ensure the continued integration of our psychosocial safety approach within our health and safety management system.
  • Develop professional working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your Manager that can be competently and safely performed and are within your capability and expertise.
  • Travel may be required from time to time as part of this role.

We're interested in hearing from people with

  • Current AHPRA registration as a psychologist, preferably with Organisational Psychology qualifications.
  • Experience working in psychosocial safety and risk management within a corporate setting.
  • Experience working in a health and safety (or related) function.
  • Excellent knowledge of psychosocial risk related legislation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and ability to manage stakeholders at various levels (leaders, employees, and the Regulator).
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral)
  • An agile mindset to balance competing priorities and with various work streams.
  • A proactive approach to identify opportunities to collaborate with all levels of the organisation and drive continuous improvement within the business.
