Why Your Role Matters:


The Portfolio Analyst plays a key role in the University Portfolio Office (UPO) and as part of a Centre of Excellence provides support to the delivery of strategic investments.

The role is responsible to provide governance and benefits realisation frameworks, program and project prioritisation processes and frameworks, performance metrics, reporting, training, quality assurance activities and governance committee support.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide coordination support to the Strategic Portfolio Assurance & Review Committee (SPARC) and timely submission of Management Board papers.
  • Enforce key quality assurance review points of all viability cases, business cases, stage gates, change requests progress reports, post investment reviews and benefit realisation for all portfolios, programs and projects.
  • Conduct health checks and make recommendations regarding mitigation options in circumstances where there are indications that project levels of risk become unacceptable.
  • Support the PMO Lead with respect to continuous improvement of processes aimed at supporting the delivery of the University's strategic investments.
  • Partner with key project stakeholders and functional units (e.g. Finance and the UPP) to assess all portfolios, programs and projects financial and nonfinancial benefits identified in all business cases.
  • Prepare and analyse strategic investment portfolio, program and project reports to present accurate and beneficial information to relevant governance forums and key stakeholders. This includes the analysis and presentation of complex financial data.

Who You Are:


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Experience working in a Project Management Office in a highly dynamic, changing and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of project management methodologies and benefits realisation methodologies and of using project management processes and tools for planning, monitoring and controlling projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to write concisely and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, in particular to governance committees.
  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret and effectively communicate complex data, in particularly project financials (budgets, actuals and forecasts) and provide recommendations to key stakeholders and governance committees.
