Our client is a well-established, global organisation in the LNG industry. They are known for delivering quality outcomes to all stakeholders, including the communities that they operate within.

About the role

Reporting into a General Manager of Government and External Affairs, this role will lead a team of four communications and external affairs professionals.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
Manage the strategic communications and external affairs strategy for the organisation and take a lead role on issues management and strategy creation;
Lead media relations and social media, incorporating these channels into your integrated communications strategy;
Manage an internal communications strategy for a technically diverse and geographically dispersed workforce;
Oversee stakeholder engagement and lead a team of highly skilled stakeholder engagement professionals;
Manage the philanthropic budget and develop and nurture partnership opportunities for the organisation; and

Mentor, develop and lead a team of communications professionals.

To be successful for this role you will have:
Proven leadership and management skills with at least a number of years managing a small team;
Extensive experience developing and implementing strategic communications into a large complex organisation;
Experience working in a diverse workforce, ideally within industries such as oil and gas, resources, construction, infrastructure or utilities;
Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public policy or similar;
Proven ability to build relationships across government, business, community, and First Nations stakeholders; and

An understanding of the full communications spectrum including stakeholder engagement, internal communications, government relations, media relations and crisis communications.
