Youth and Community Workers support the delivery of a variety of social, cultural, educational, and recreational programs and services to increase inclusion, social connection and wellbeing for young people and others in our diverse community.

This work contributes to the City of Sydney's vision for a socially just and inclusive city.

To be successful in this role, you will have these skills:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating practical skills in engaging and working with young people and wider community with complex needs.
  • Complying with and keeping abreast of all relevant legislation applicable to the performance of the duties of this position

You will have this knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work / Social Work or other relevant discipline and/or demonstrated high level experience working with young people.
  • Demonstrated experience with planning and delivery of social, cultural, educational, or recreational programs for young people.
  • Current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check in accordance with legislated requirements for this position.
