About the RoleProvide leadership and expertise to peers in budgeting, financial management, accounting technology and finance activities to facilitate effective and efficient operation within the Division of Surgery.

Provide specialist advice to Senior Managers within the Division of Surgery in relation to budgeting and financial management and undertake research to adequately respond to new public sector financial management initiatives.


  • Develop standardised policies and processes within the Division in areas of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial management. Develop and use information management tools to analyse and report data ensuring that records are maintained and financial outputs are timely, accurate and meaningful. Present reports and information that is clear and concise based on sound interpretation with comprehensive arguments that identify all relevant issues in order to influence compliance both verbally and written. Coordinate the development and negotiation of workforce service agreements and contracts (non labour and capital purchases) whilst being proactive in revenue recovery.
