The Role
The Terminal Procedures Specialist works as part of a small team within Aeronautical Information Service - Air Force (AIS-AF) that is responsible for designing and coding Instrument Flight Procedures and generation navigation database products.
Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) are designed and coded in accordance with international standards, are currently provided in both electronic (digital) and paper formats, and are widely used by Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel in support of flying operations globally.
The Terminal Procedures team is a dynamic environment with time pressures to meet International Civil Aviation Organisation distribution cycles and short notice Australian Defence Force contingencies to ensure a seamless production process from sourcing flight critical aeronautical information through product compilation, to publication, and ultimately product distribution.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
About our Team
- Relevant experience in an aviation related role (e.g. aeronautical information management, instrument flight procedure design, air traffic control, flight operations, etc.) or;
- experience in digital aeronautical information coding (ARINC or DAFIF) is highly desirable.
