_We are looking for an experienced Consultation Lead. _
The consultation lead will design, develop, and lead a consultation process with First Nations communities.

You do not need to understand banknotes or the manufacturing process, however you will have excellent communications skills and a proven track record of achieving meaningful engagement and positive outcomes with and for First Nations communities.

This is your opportunity to contribute to the design of an iconic piece of Australian culture and learn about the process of creating a banknote


You will understand and pursue best practice and be familiar with the wealth of research that guides consultation with First Nations communities.

You will also be experienced in balancing complex engagement requirements with timely outcomes.

Although the team is currently based in Sydney, you do not need to be based in Sydney to apply.

Some travel to Head Office, our banknote printer in Melbourne, and travel to facilitate the consultation process, will be required.


Objectives

  • Through a consultative process with First Nations communities, determine imagery that represents those communities for representation on the $5 banknote
  • By designing and leading the consultation process, ensure it is inclusive, respectful, and timely
  • As part of the consultation development and conduct, ensure cultural contexts for the work are understood and respected
  • By working with the Banknote Strategy and Engagement team, ensure that banknote technical requirements form a key part of the consultation and communication process
  • Facilitate a communication process throughout the banknote design process between banknote designer and artist and/or community group.

Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to design and lead a consultation process with First Nations communities
  • Familiarity with different engagement styles and the ability to adapt to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex consultation process within a clear timeframe
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
