Our Journey:


Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

We are seeking experienced Patient Services Assistants to join our Support Services permanent to work in the maternity ward


Shifts available:

The shifts make up a 4 week roster with AM and PM shifts available


Position - PM SHIFTS
Week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Week - Monday, Tuesday and Sunday

Week - Wednesday

Week - Monday, Tuesday and Sunday


Position - AM SHIFTS
Week - Saturday and Sunday

Week - Saturday and Sunday

A Day in the Life:

Working across the Dandenong Hospital sites your main focus role will be to provide excellent support based patient service.


A Patient Service Assistant duties include cleaning, patient transfer between wards, mortuary transfers and may involve patient lifting & turning, in ward bed areas.

You will work the direction of Nursing managers and nursing staff.

  • Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Ward cleaning
  • Patient discharge assistance
  • Use of lifting equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs
  • Assisting nursing staff as requested
  • Transfer & cleaning of ward equipment
  • Patient transfers wards / imaging

On a Personal Level:


  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
  • A proactive approach and team player
  • Great attention to detail

What You Need:


  • Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
  • Previous patient services or patient care attendant experience within a healthcare setting
  • Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
  • Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
  • Basic to intermediate digital literacy
