Description

Reporting to the General Manager within the Equipment Division, your role as Product Manager will involve the development and market growth of company packaging and food processing equipment, weighing and inspection systems, solutions and services.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer or Technical Manager to help support an established Australian business in the successful implementation of new products to market, while maintaining the performance of their current product portfolio.

You will understand the needs of clients in manufacturing environments and work to develop equipment solutions for their business.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake market research to identify potential new product opportunities for the business
  • Work closely with the Sales and Research & Development teams to qualify the merits of introducing new products to include in the company portfolio
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships and record keeping (e.g., price lists, list of options, agreements, terms and conditions)
  • Manage inventory turnover, product availability and monitor production schedules accordingly
  • Maintain product costing from point of supply to cost of sale and after sales support
  • Regularly update company policies and review terms and conditions in relation to product sales
  • Establish and monitor product launch process alongside the R&D team
  • Product promotion to key company stakeholders to ensure a successful additional to the product portfolio
  • Development and maintenance of presale marketing materials in close cooperation with the Marketing team
  • Understand operational and technical aspects of hardware, software, and overall solution integration
  • Develop and implement product training courses for sales team and assist R&D team in training services
  • Conduct local site visits to potential and existing customers in conjunction with the sales team
  • Attend conferences, trade exhibitions, supplier, and marketing meetings as required (Annual overseas business trip to key supplier)
  • Be aware of regulatory requirements for products in related industries

Essential Criteria

  • Mechanical, Electromechanical or Electrical Engineering degree an advantage
  • Relevant industry technical and sales experience related to food processing, packaging equipment and inspection systems
  • Experience in dealing with local and international suppliers/manufacturers
  • Experience in compliance checks on machinery
  • Inventory management experience
  • Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technical aptitude
  • Must have genuine motivation to provide an overall quality customer experience
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Desirable

  • Experience with maintenance, servicing or warranty service of machinery would be an advantage
  • Product Management experience across the product lifecycle (discovery, design, manufacture, launch and operationalise)
