The _Manager, Commercial Determinants of Health_ reports directly to the Executive Manager, Policy, Strategy & Impact, and works across the organisation, to provide strategic direction and planning for the delivery of a wide range of projects and initiatives.


The Commercial Determinants of Health team work across a range of sectors and include VicHealth's commitment in the important areas of Tobacco, e-cigarettes and alcohol in addition to better understanding and mitigating approaches used by harmful industries, such as marketing, that can result in poor health outcomes for Victorians.


In this career defining role, you will be responsible for continuing to drive and shape our approach to mitigating harmful industries in addition to setting out a bold vision for commercial models that embed health and equity goals.

You will also develop and nurture excellent relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders.

You will possess exceptional leadership skills, have a "can-do" attitude and be comfortable working in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Building and maintaining great relationships with stakeholders, using your exceptional communication skills, will be a demonstrated strength.

$126,933-$152,586 (plus superannuation and other benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications; and post graduate qualifications desirable
  • Extensive industry experience with a record of achievement and/or experience working within the public health or government sectors
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and people leadership skills
  • Demonstrable experience delivering a portfolio of program investments
  • Demonstrable experience of contributing to strategy decisions within a specific portfolio
  • An industry leader in developing and maintaining integral stakeholder relationships.
