About the role


We are seeking a values driven Mission Leader to spiritually and practically lead in building the capacity of the Northside Northern Beaches Manly Corps/Frontline Mission to positively impact the community with the love of Jesus through the framework of the NSW-ACT Divsional Mission Plan.

You will successfully

  • Facilitate the spiritual development of all those linked with Northside Northern Beaches Manly Corps in line with TSA faith statements and Wesleyan theology.
  • Engages community members in conversations regarding matters of faith and assists them to explore faith pathways.
  • Leads the team in the delivery of Sunday services, small groups and other Corps activities for example FEAST, Community Tables and Discipleship Huddles.
  • Provide pathways for people to develop their leadership capacity which enables them to then lead TSA groups and activities.
  • Organise activities for the local community that meet the needs/demographic of the area in line with Community of Hope, TSA values and mission as per the NSW-ACT Divisional Plan.
  • Ensure that employees and volunteers are led in accordance with TSA procedures (eg. integrity checks, training/development, onboarding/offboarding).
  • Oversee the budget and other financial matters of the Corps.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, local stakeholders and build strong connections within the community which add positively to the mission of TSA.
  • Team Member of the Northside Leadership Team.
  • Attend Northside Area Leadership Team meetings and is an active participant in collaborating with all other TSA expressions in the Northside Area.
  • Oversee the local Red Shield appeal campaign for the area and other fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for the Manly TSA Building.
  • Works to ensure all WHS requirements are achieved.
  • Professional development & Continuous Improvement.
This is a fixed term part-time position, based in Manly, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Hay Level 13.

You will have

  • Ministry and leadership experience in a local church either as a volunteer or staff member.
  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel.
  • A shared desire to achieve the goals of TSA Mission.
  • Selfmotivated, high level of initiative and strong work ethic
  • Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Appetite to be involved in the local community.
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
  • Minimum Diploma in either community services or Chaplaincy, or similar, is desirable.
