Are you a Waste Facility Operator looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a local government organisation?

Our client, a local Government organisation based in Toowoomba, is currently seeking a Waste Facility Operator.

This role will see you working Monday to Friday on temporary full-time basis, with a strong possibility of extension for the right person.

Some overtime and weekends may be required at times.


The Waste Facility Operator will be responsible for performing waste management facility operational tasks with a focus on customer control, plant or equipment operation and site maintenance.


Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Recycling and diversion operations,
  • Supervision and monitoring of customers,
  • Transfer station operations,
  • Site maintenance activities, including grass and weed control and litter management.
  • Cleaning, and maintenance of vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment.
  • You must also be able to monitor customer activities, ensure their safety,
  • Environmental management system (EMS) and safety management system (SMS) as they relate to waste management facility operations.
  • Ability to successfully complete three yearly VOCC assessments
  • Controlling daytoday activities at a small waste facility

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Certificate III in Waste Management from a recognised tertiary institution or approved training provider.
  • Additionally, they must have a current 'MR' Class Licence,
  • WH&S Competency Card, and nationally recognised competencies of major plant equipment.
  • Possession of a current "DrumMUSTER" inspector competency or willingness to obtain
