Have you always wanted to work for Australia's largest Health and Care company? Reporting to the Head of Healthcare Funding, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Healthcare Funding with developing modelling covering new funding arrangements, transitions between funding arrangements and demonstrating the impact for healthcare partners.


This includes extracting, preparing and enriching data, building models and algorithms that use past casemix to demonstrate a go forward cost impact of changes in funding, developing reporting that tracks actual benefit outlay to predicted outlay from models and monitoring casemix shifts to ensure new models are robust.


How will I help?

  • Formulate updates to existing or create new funding model/s that achieve BUPA's objectives and the triple aim of healthcare (access, affordability and highquality)
  • Source, extract, prepare and enrich data required to support accurate modelling of cost impacts or new funding mechanism or changes to existing mechanisms
  • Support the Head of Healthcare Funding to develop and execute strategies that support the goal of sustainable affordability by minimising claims risk
  • Develop reporting and dashboards that allow regular monitoring of performance of funding models against original intent and assumed performance. Work with the contracting team to prepare and implement remediation plans where performance deviates from expected outcomes.
  • Draft reports, presentations and other documents to be shared in various forums across the business
  • Provide insights, knowledge and expertise to influence and improve product design, including ensuring strategic initiatives align with Customer and Product strategies
  • Articulate value insights and outcomes to business stakeholders to influence design of highquality customer experiences.

What do I need?

  • Significant knowledge of casemix funding principles and the ability to build financial and benchmarking models
  • Extensive experience and tertiary qualification in business analytics or data science (or other relevant discipline)
  • Sound knowledge of clinical costing, funding models and health information management practices would be advantageous
  • Significant understanding of the Australian healthcare system and its ongoing reform.
  • Significant experience with private healthcare sector and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management (internal/external) and ability to build strong business relationships at a senior level
  • Proven capacity to communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences including gathering requirements and presenting results.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or analytics field or extensive relevant industry experience
