  • Temporary 12month role based in Sydney, with potential for extension or conversion to ongoing.

About the Role


The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to lead the development of policy initiatives that promote a diverse, vibrant, safe and productive 24-hour economy.


As an Associate Director, Policy, you will be at the forefront of crafting and implementing innovative policies that grow and diversify our 24-hour economy.

Our work is broad-ranging and multidisciplinary, collaborating from licensing and planning to arts and creative industries, transport, public safety and economic development.

Your expertise and strategic vision will be instrumental in fostering collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders across government, industry, and the community sector.


Your responsibilities will revolve around leading the charge in policy development, ensuring that our initiatives align with the needs and aspirations of our community.

You will engage in extensive consultation and forge strong partnerships, leveraging collective wisdom to shape a comprehensive and inclusive policy framework.

Your leadership skills and ability to navigate complex landscapes will be invaluable in driving consensus and ensuring successful implementation.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Expertise and experience navigating through government processes.
  • Demonstrated senior experience working in a complex organisation delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the development, delivery and implementation of strategy and policy that drives and supports economic outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Clerk Grade 11/12 $134,411 - $ 155,445 plus 10.5% superannuation and annual leave loading.
