Description
Iconic Australian retailer group with strong heriatge and innovation

  • Excellent salary with additional staff benefits
  • Lead strategy for 300+ stores in NSW & ACT

Talent Butler is placing confidence exclusively in an iconic Australian business with a unique and exciting heritage that provides food and convenience in Australia and New Zealand.

With an exceptional retail property strategy being a core function of the business, an opportunity has been created for a strategic and influential Retail Portfolio Manager to join a small, busy team of experienced property and development specialists here in Sydney CBD.

The Business
***The business has a freehold and leasehold portfolio of around 300 assets in NSW and the ACT consisting of not only retail locations but an infrastructure portfolio for distribution depots, storage, and logistics. The company has placed increased emphasis on improved commercial outcomes and they are invested to further enhance the property CRM and reporting over the medium to long term. With that in mind, your ability to work in a changeable environment and shape the future of the systems and process would be advantageous. The core purpose of this role is to optimize property occupation requirements to better meet broader, growing consumer expectations. The business also has a strong focus on both property and property development, they, therefore, aim to attract and retain the best available talent through continued growth and career opportunities, with that in mind your hunger will see you excel.

The Role
***Reporting to the Property Network Development Manager in Sydney; this opportunity would suit someone who has had at least five years of intermediate-level experience within retail, or commercial property with a relatively strategic focus as this isn't simply an administration role. You will work in collaboration with the development and projects team, it would therefore be highly advantageous if you hold tertiary education such as a Bachelor of Property Economics though it is not essential. You will enjoy taking ownership of the Asset Management process and have ideally had previous experience implementing new property systems as this will play a key part in the longer term. Assisted by a property administrator, the position will be both rewarding but also busy. You will be managing lease renewals and disposals, new acquisitions, compliance, OH&S, strategy, and reporting.

Key Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the retail leasing act
  • It is expected that you will have at least five+ years' experience, at a midtosenior, strategic level.
  • You will work with passion and enthusiasm towards clearly defined goals and collaborate with the wider business units for broader business outcomes.
  • With culture and values a key driver, you will be an effective communicator both professional with high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • You will review ongoing business activities to think multiple steps ahead and present opportunities that enhance commercial opportunities.
  • Having strong attention to detail and a focus on task management will help ensure success.
  • The ability to work in a changeable environment with growing processes and innovation
