NAB is establishing a Financial Crime COE team to centralise capabilities across a number of core execution teams. This position will play a critical leadership role in driving this transformation journey.


The role:


  • You will support the ambitions of the Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Leadership Team in driving NABs approach to compliance by:
_
- scanning the global environment to bring a deep understanding of market trends (domestic and international) with respect to customer due diligence
- leading the development and design of a relevant, innovative and sustainable CDD solution for NAB
- working with the Change Program to drive delivery of investment slate initiatives for CDD
- working with the CDD Leadership team to identify automation opportunities within the CDD workflow
- leading the development of a data driven approach to periodic reviews
- leading the development of a new operating rhythm with colleagues in the customer divisions, including escalation and forward planning for demands on banker time
- pro-actively managing the risk and control environment within the CDD function, ensuring risks and events are captured in a timely manner and that the actions to close are fit for purpose and tested appropriately
- working closely with the CDD Leadership team to plan process and technology solutions for changing policy requirements


The role and Day to day will include:

  • Accountability for driving significant transformation of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) operations
  • Provide effective oversight, challenge, insight and advice to Change Projects impacting Customer Due Diligence
  • Provide effective risk oversight of Change Projects impacting Customer Due Diligence, ensuring risks and controls are correctly identified and regulatory obligations and dates are achieved
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Contribute to the development of the change engagement strategy, developing detailed stakeholder maps and communication plans

What you will bring:


  • Ability to communicate effectively within the organisation, collaborate with SMEs, other policy Leads and management in order to achieve key objectives of uplifting financial crime operations compliance
  • Ability to strategically evaluate risks, develop & enforce policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify and detect new trends and patterns, and share knowledge
  • Understanding of and experience working with regulatory/risk frameworks, including the implementation of wholesale changes to policy
  • Ability to analyse documentation, draw conclusions and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, strong leadership both within and across business unit boundaries
  • Previous experience in an International Bank, with demonstrated experience in leading Financial Crime Change Programs and/or Advisory
  • Previous experience developing innovative solutions for Customer Due Diligence challenges, particularly in the area of digital transformation
  • Effective presentation coaching and influencing skills; and
  • Customer driven commercial approach to business
