About the Role

  • The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Patient Safety. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provide leadership and expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient safety and quality initiatives and fostering a safety culture and learning for improvement.
  • The role provides advanced clinical and problemsolving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management to assist staff in providing safe and reliable care for patients/residents/clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering to support clinical teams in providing specialist nursing care. The CNC provides expertise in leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research.
  • A post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
