About the Role:


The Team Facilitator - Early Career Teacher Development is responsible for directing aspects of development, facilitation and evaluation of evidence-based professional learning, aligned to the department's strategic priorities, for early career teachers and their mentors across the state.

The program supports graduate teachers to transition to the proficient career stage of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, as well as supporting mentors, Partnership Leads and regional co-facilitators.

The role will establish collaborative relationships with children's centres, preschools and schools to support the implementation of programs.


Qualifications:


Eligibility:

Applicants must be either currently registered or able to be registered to teach in South Australia.

If not permanent with the Education Department, applicants must meet the department's minimum employment requirements before taking up an appointment.


Desirable:


Significant experience in leading early career teacher professional learning and development, beyond own site, resulting in graduate teachers transitioning to proficient.


At the conclusion of a term of appointment:

  • permanent Education Department employees will be placed according to the terms of their substantive appointment and the policies in operation at the time
- employees originally from other public sector organisations with a right of return, will be managed according to the provisions of the Public Sector Act 2009 (SA) and any applicable public sector determination or policies
- applicants who are not permanent employees of the department do not hold placement rights with the Department for Education at the conclusion of the appointment.


Special Conditions:


The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:

$126,217 per annum plus superannuation
